dedicated to educating the community to improve the quality of
life, by eliminating poverty, HIV/STI's and inadequate health
care.
Mission
Statement
South Central Educational
Development, Inc.'s Mission is to work as a diverse
organization, serving Southern West Virginia and Southwestern
Virginia, by providing excellent services, advocating for the
prevention of HIV/STI's, and poverty by utilizing innovating
ways to improve access to health care
Darryl Cannady -
Executive Director
Mr. Cannady attended
Southern West Virginia Community College from 1990-1992 and
majored in Business. He was the Program Coordinator for
Elkhorn Valley Development from 1992-1996 along with being the
executive Director for South Central AIDS Network.
Starting in the year of 1996, the South Central Educational
Development, Inc. was formed by Mr. Cannady. He has
affiliations with the Funding Exchange (Board Member), West
Virginia States AIDS Advisory Counsel, (Board Member), President
of the Board for Appalachian Community Fund, Jackson State
University of Mississippi Urban Research Center Advisory Board
Member for (Sam CBA), National AIDS Education serving Minority
Advisory Board and Facilitator of Community Risk and Resource
Assessment.
