South Central Educational Development's Appalachian AIDS
Resource Network, we would like to WELCOME you to our facilities
located in Bluefield, West Virginia.
South Central Educational Development,
Inc.'s (SCED) programming and Projects includes "The Appalachian
AIDS Resource Network", whose mission is to develop coalitions
to address community needs around HIV/AIDS, provide Capacity
Building Assistance to local, statewide and national agencies
that provide HIV and AIDS Education and Prevention. "South
Central AIDS Network (SCAN)", provides local HIV/AIDS Education
to communities and schools. We provide training in HIV
Prevention to local resources, social workers, nurses, and other
health care professionals as well as Substance Abuse Providers.
If there is a need for education, we try to meet the need.
"Direct Services" is a program of SCAN and provides emergency
assistance to people living with HIV and AIDS, this service
provide financial assistance to clients in need, services range
from rental assistance to telephone payment, car repairs to
insurance payments (car and health) This assistance helps
clients maintain normal lifestyles.
